The premise

Africa is not the backdrop. It is part of the healing.

Your host

Nikki Duchenne

Founder · Mediator, coach & psychology graduate

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, psychology, providing a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and relationships. However, it was my own experience navigating a major life transformation after 20 years of marriage that truly ignited my passion and a desire to provide comprehensive support.

The beautiful city of Cape Town has helped me to heal. The outdoors, the restaurants, the people, have all played a part in my own personal transformation. To reset. To reconnect. To reclaim.

Today I stand tall, walking into this next chapter with gratitude.

I choose to share this with you.
Live. Laugh. Love, again.

Every day is a journey. Every day has purpose.

There are few more beautiful places in the world to stop and take stock. Cape Town is named again and again among the most beautiful cities on earth — mountain, ocean and city held in a single view — and that makes it an extraordinary place to pause, breathe and begin again. And you won’t do it alone: Nikki is your guide, mentor and coach for the week — someone who knows the city intimately, knows the road you’re walking, and can show you the way.

Every day holds facilitated group time, led by your host, Nikki — mediator, coach and psychology graduate. Mornings start slowly, with time to journal, then group time before you head out for the next adventure — exploring Cape Town, and seeing the landscape from a different perspective.

Cape Town is your metaphor. Reset, reconnect, reclaim runs beneath every experience, so the mountain, the ocean and the table are never only sightseeing — they are part of the day’s purpose and journey.

Day 1 · Bo-Kaap
Receive

Receiving is part of give-and-take — it completes the cycle of life. It asks vulnerability of you, and that vulnerability is what builds trusting relationships and opens you to life’s abundance.

Day 2 · Silvermine
Reset

Up on the mountain the noise falls away. Breath slows, the shoulders drop, and the week begins to reset around you — the same life, seen from higher ground.

Day 3 · Cape Point & Boulders
Reconnect

Where two oceans meet, something settles. A day to reconnect — with what you want, with who you are, and with the direction that is yours to take.

Day 4 · Robben Island
Release

A place that carried unbearable weight, and chose dignity over bitterness. Today is about what you are ready to set down — and what you no longer have to carry.

Day 5 · The Winelands
Rejoice

A long, slow table beneath the mountains. Relax. Breathe. Rejoice. Joy is available now — not when the work is done, but here, today.

Day 6 · Table Mountain
Rise

A day of highs. The summit, the long view back across the road you’ve walked, and art that reflects your strength.

Day 7 · Cold plunge
Reclaim

First light, cold water, aliveness. This is where you reclaim it — the self you came to find. Take the plunge. Your choice. Your moment.

At the table

Every table is a celebration of food and togetherness

Some of the deepest moments happen over dinner. From a hands-on cooking table in the Bo-Kaap, to a feast served with drumming, to the farewell on the final night — the meals are never extras. They are where the day’s conversations carry on.

Every table is chosen with the same intention as the rest of the week. These are some of the Cape’s most celebrated kitchens, led by chefs who made their names here — seats that are not easily come by. None is chosen at random: each belongs to its day, for a dish, a view, or a story that could only be told there.

This is a journey for people who love to eat well. The food is not a backdrop to the tour — it is woven through it, held to the same standard as the coastline and the mountain. Come hungry. You will leave having tasted something rare.
